Star Lodge

Cheltenham

Star Lodge, formerly known as Phoenix Lodge was built in 1836.

The current tenant was looking to expand it’s business without moving from a desirable and beautiful location.

Stanley Partnership was then approached by the building owner (via recommendation) and a brief to extend the building was agreed. Star Lodge is Grade II listed and in the centre of the Conservation Area.

The final design created a delicate and lightweight building, partly built into the ground, allowing the existing building to remain dominant on the site. Large light wells and full height glazing help to bring natural light into the lower level.
