Stanley Partnership presented a scheme to the Cheltenham Festival organizers and the Local MP to review the ongoing needs for a central exhibition and concert space.
Temporary structures are used for the varied festivals that feature in Cheltenham each year. This strategy is widely recognized as less than ideal, and the concept of a more permanent building was suggested.
The bold scheme created a lightweight glazed pyramid accommodating entrance, sub-terrarium performance spaces, services and restaurant. Four landscaped garden ‘zones’ were also created giving definition to the open space.
